Sustainability
Sustainability
At Casa Timiș Wellness & Spa Resort, hospitality meets sustainability: we harness the power of the sun, make use of recycled water, transform waste into new life, and celebrate the gifts of the terroir in each of our restaurants. We embrace nature by planting trees and flowers to support biodiversity, preserve hectares of old vineyards, safeguarding the authentic spirit of the Dealu Mare region, and envision a green, responsible future for all.
Vineyards - Tradition and respect
Vine culture is distinguished as a form of sustainable agriculture, largely due to its well-developed root system that, over time, reduces the need for artificial irrigation. This aspect of viticulture brings significant ecological and economic benefits, thus contributing to the overall sustainability of agriculture.
H2O: The Elixir of Sustainability
A particularly important aspect of our sustainable approach is the use of reusable glass containers for serving water. This not only significantly reduces plastic consumption, but also contributes to a lower environmental impact.
Roots of Sustainability
The Casa Timis estate is now home to 1800 birches, hundreds of tuya columnaris, oaks, firs, spruces, lindens and willows. Not only fruit trees were planted, but also an impressive variety of other species of trees and plants. This diversity not only enriches biodiversity, but also contributes to the creation of a healthy ecosystem, the absorption of CO2 and the improvement of soil and air quality.
Renewable Energy
The investment in photovoltaic panels, LED lighting, and battery storage for generators reflects Casa Timiș Resort’s commitment to sustainability. This demonstrates a conscious and responsible approach to the environment, serving as an example of best practice in sustainable tourism. Through these choices, the resort not only reduces its long-term operational costs but also contributes to environmental protection, providing its guests with an eco-friendly accommodation experience.
Responsible Cuisine
Casa Timiş adopts a proactive and innovative approach to reducing food waste, a crucial aspect of sustainability in the restaurant industry. By carefully planning menus, the restaurant ensures that ingredient usage is maximized, thereby reducing waste. This strategy not only optimizes resource use but also contributes to more efficient financial management.
Aquatic Ecosystems
In the context of climate change, artificial aquatic ecosystems can also help mitigate its effects by absorbing carbon dioxide and regulating the local microclimate. Additionally, they can play a role in water resource management by serving as reservoirs for collecting and storing rainwater.
Absolute Harmony
The thatched roofs of the bungalows are a key element. They not only provide natural insulation, thus reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling, but also contribute to creating an ecosystem for local flora and fauna, while simultaneously improving the surrounding air quality.
